Hosting a summer barbecue is something many Americans do annually. While veteran cooks likely have the hang of things, new ones might struggle. Let us help you avoid some common grilling mistakes this season. Here are a few summer grilling tips to help you barbecue from us here at Crossroads Chevrolet.
Clean the Grill
A clean grill is a happy grill! Seriously, cleaning the grille can help improve the taste of whatever you’re cooking on it. Chicken breasts and a hint of salmon don’t go so well together. Use a metal brush to clean the grill after you’re done cooking. Cleaning the grill is easier when it’s still warm.
A spray bottle can be your best friend when grilling. Flare-ups can scorch meat and become problematic with large amounts of food. Keep a spray bottle at the ready so you can quickly douse the flames before they damage the grub. Be careful not to drench the grill though!
Keep it Simple
One of the worst ideas when grilling is cooking too many types of foods at the same time. Grilling ribs, burgers, hot dogs, and chicken at the same time won’t end well. Instead, consider limiting the amount of meat options and offer chilled side dishes like coleslaw.
