It’s been months in the making, but now, it’s finally official: the Chevrolet Bolt has been delivered to its first customers. Three lucky drivers received their new Chevy Bolt EV on Dec. 13th, and the vehicle will slowly roll out to others over the course of the year.
This incredible vehicle is run entirely by electricity, with the ability to travel 238 miles on a single charge. According to Chevrolet, the average daily commute is only 40 miles anyway. And with a travel charger, there’s no limit to how far you can go.
Of course, the Chevy Bolt isn’t just good for your wallet; it’s also a game-changer for the environment, completely avoiding gasoline.
Currently, the Chevy Bolt is only available in California and Oregon, but, with charging stations and general popularity for electric vehicles rising, it’s only a matter of time before drivers all across the country can drive a vehicle like the new Chevy Bolt.
The 2017 Chevy Bolt release follows a long list of awards and honors, with the vehicle named “Car of the Year” by Motor Trend, “Green Car of the Year” by Green Car Journal, and more.
